Sensor Positions
We are often asked how sensor positions are described in various catalogues. For example the some catalogue list as Left Hand and Right Hand. This is as viewed from either the drivers seat as in a longitudinal engine or looking from the flywheel / gear box in a transverse engine.
In V engine layouts or 4 sensor systems
BANK 1 means the sensor "sniffing" the exhaust coming from
cylinder 1 in the ignition firing order.
BANK 2 means the sensor "sniffing" the exhaust coming from
cylinder 2 in the ignition firing order.
SENSOR 1 is the Front or Pre Cat Sensor
SENSOR 2 is the Rear or Post Cat Sensor
